Choose from a variety of fun, rewarding VILLA VOLUNTEER roles:

Chapel Volunteer

For those who are interested in the spiritual side of care, help residents to and from the Villa Chapel and attend mass with them, if you are comfortable. Become a Eucharistic Minister or read during mass at the Villa and live your faith.

One to One Friendly Visitor

Become a companion to a Villa resident! Many of our seniors would love the company of a caring individual to share memories, stories and thoughts with. Often their network of family and friends are not in a position to visit regularly. Your undivided interest and attention, one-on-one, will ensure they stay active, engaged and energized. Great conversation, a visit the tuck shoppe, or go for a walk! Your support will make a huge impact.

OTA/PTA Program Assistant

This new volunteer opportunity is for those with an interest in physical rehabilitation. Volunteers assist on our 5th floor in the Rehabilitation room, cleaning machines and assisting in the physical therapy, going for walks with individuals staying at the Villa temporarily. This is a great introduction to careers in Occupational and Physiotherapy, as well as valuable experience for students already passionate about the field.

Meal Companion

Assist Villa staff at meal times and help those Villa residents who require extra assistance feeding. A great opportunity to interact with seniors and care with compassion.

Pet Therapy Visitors

Villa residents love spending time with furry friends. Volunteers bring their pets and tour one floor, visiting with residents individually. They have a chance to play, bond and get a little love from these adorable companions.

Therapeutic Recreation Assistant & Adult Day Program Assistant

Assist the Therapeutic Recreation team and Adult Day Program team in creating engaging recreational programs for Villa residents and seniors living in our community. These programs focus on stimulating cognitive function and awareness, increasing physical, spiritual and social health and improving each resident’s overall wellbeing. Different activities are planned daily! You will love volunteering for:

  • Afternoon Tea
  • Bocce Ball Games
  • Bowling Games
  • Community Outings
  • Crafts, Pottery, Painting
  • Crossword Challenges
  • Music/Entertainment Performances
  • Sensory-based Programs & Events

Tuck Shoppe Attendant

The Villa Tuck Shoppe is Volunteer Run. Assist residents, families and visitors in picking up a special treat!  Coffee, snacks, a trinket and don’t forget the ice cream. No trip to the Villa would be complete without our famous ice cream!
