COMMUNITY UPDATE: COVID-19

We assure you that caring for residents, families, staff, volunteers and our community is our top priority. Thank you for standing with us during this challenging moment. We’ve put measures in place to ensure the safety and security of the entire Villa family and our community.

Based on recommendations from the Ministry of Health related COVID 19 (Novel Coronavirus), the Chief Medical Officer of Ontario and the most current Federal and international guidelines, we’ve made the following changes that we know are in the best interest of those we serve.

SCREENING

Active screening of all staff entering St. Joseph’s Villa continues. Villa Staff who have the ability to work remotely are being encouraged to do so, while our front-line health care team continues to go above and beyond to protect our residents.

VISITING

No non-essential visiting is allowed at this time, with the exception for residents who are very ill or requiring end of life care. No visiting on or off of the premises is allowed. There are no exceptions. Social distancing must be respected at all times for us to maintain the safety of our residents and staff.

DELIVERING ESSENTIAL ITEMS

The only essential items we will accept at this time are clothing or shoes, that are absolutely needed. Please do not bring food items, baked goods or toiletries. We are able to provide these for residents as needed.

VIRTUAL VISITING

We recognize the difficulty of not being able to visit loved ones. Our Therapeutic Recreation Department is helping residents and families to stay connected through Phone Calls, Skype Calls (Sound & Video) and Window Visits. Please contact your Therapeutic Recreation Staff for further information. We’re here to help.
