Essential Caregiver Designation

Thank you for becoming an essential caregiver at St. Joseph’s Villa. Please begin the online application process prior to visiting the Villa. On the day of your first visit, you will need to complete a rapid COVID-19 test at our screening areas (located at each entry point). Visits may start once a negative result is determined.

  • Please Note:

    1. Please allow a minimum of 72 hours to expedite the essential caregiver designation process.
    2. Essential caregivers will be provided with an ID badge, and must wear it at all times while visiting the Villa. This will help staff identify essential caregivers.
    3. If the Villa is in an outbreak, Essential Caregivers are able to visit, one at a time to the outbreak unit following outbreak protocols.
    4. Whether you are an essential caregiver, or OTHERWISE, It is highly recommended to either complete the Government of Ontario COVID-19 self-assessment by visiting: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/ prior to arriving at the Villa, or have an alternative person as “back-up” in the event that the on-site active screen is failed, and the resident needs to be taken to a medical appointment (short stay absence). An individual taking a resident out for a short stay absence does NOT necessarily need to be an essential caregiver.
