The Behavioral Supports Ontario (BSO) project is a provincial initiative focusing on providing quality care for individuals with complex and challenging mental health, dementia or other neurological conditions, in an environment that is based on safety, high quality, evidence-based care and practice.

We are expanding our service to include further support to the clients, staff, and mobile team in our Long Term Care homes to include
Brant (1), Haldimand Norfolk (1), Hamilton (2), Burlington (1), Niagara (2). These leads will be assigned to target Long Term Care homes requiring enhanced supports.

The Behavioural Lead will use a team approach to provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the LTCH team in the development of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary plan of care. Positions also include supervisory duties and complaint resolution. A background in client, family, and staff counselling is essential.

Applicants must possess:

  • Diploma in social Services or Social Service Worker and current College registration in good standing.
  • At least two years’ experience working with geriatric population, adult mental health experience specifically those with related to dementia, mental health, or other conditions.
  • Proven leadership, supervisory, and counselling experience
  • Training in Montessori, GPA, and Adult Mental Health is an asset
  • Extensive working knowledge of community resources for Geriatrics/Mental Health
  • Proficiency in computer and software use such as Microsoft,, PCC, Clinical connect
  • Ability to adapt professionally and efficiently to changing conditions and priorities
